Default Short Ram VS OEM Intake

is there really a difference? the short ram is basically sucking in hot air so i dont see why i should replace my oem intake. i dont want a cai (i live in MA)....

is it really worth getting short ram? i have a d16 btw

i was planning on getting an ebay intake w/ a k&n filter........

normally the pipe is bigger and flows more air. and a cone filter can flow alot more than a oem one.

ebay intakes are great as long as you ditch the filter and get a k&n

A short ram can be the best air filter IF you modify the hood so the intake receives cold air(I don't know if that's legal). But ideally, that would be perfect. Other than that, it just gets the air in quicker because its shorter and there are less bends thank a stock intake.

you can keep the stock ducting, but definently replace filter with a K&N. Power gains are negligable from an intake alone.

I'd say keep the stock intake. Intake box designs are much better than running an open cone filter.

If I could go back I woundn't have bought my AEM short ram. It makes minimal improvement at best, and it makes your car louder.

I removed my short ram intake this weekend and put the stock airbox back in. What a difference in sound now. The only other differences I noticed was a slight reduction in throttle response.
