Default camber / alignment ?s

so i went to get my tires aligned because they are being eaten horribly by my car, i put almost brand new tires on the front and in 2 weeks the entire inside of the tire is worn flat... the car is dropped maybe 1-2" at the most on 15" rims so im thinking it must be the alignment but the guy said alignment on tires like that wont do anything, and that i have to buy new tires, is this true or is he trying to pull something? i dont know much about tires but i know thats a ridiculous amount of wear.... another reason i dont think its the camber causing it is because the back is just as low as the front and the tires in the back arent worn at all...

Yes, you do have to replace these tires to get proper alignment, and yeah, it's probably not the cameber that is causing the wear, its most likely the toe.

not after 2 weeks. I run almost -2.5 to -3.0 negative camber on my tires with no wear issues.

Toe wears tires faster than camber. But a bad combination of both will really wear tires quickly.

I run about 0 toe front and back sometimes 1/16 toe out front for better handling.

i busted out the level earlier, and from what i can tell the front ones do point inwards, but only slightly, and the rear tires hardly point inward at all... i dont really know how accurate this is, but i guess im out 400 on new tires =/ sucks cuz those tires on there were only a couple months old, so is a camber kit at all needed? the guy kept mentioning it over and over again as if that was very important, but he did not seem to be the most intelligent guy... ya know working at a tire shop ....

screw the camber kit.....that int your problem. toe is your problem. yes camber and toe are out of spec but toe is killing your tires. toe is the angle of your tires outward or inward when viewed from the top of the car. both of your front tires are pigeoned toed out. you are "grinding" your tires away....the reason why the insides are wearing faster is because the insides are toching the road first.

I aggree its more than likely a toe issue. You can probably go forever with a neg. 2.0 camber reading and not chew up tires. As for aligning the car the machines take there measurements off the rims so if the insides of the tires are worn to the point the steel is showing but they all have close to the same amount of depth left the car can still be accurately aligned. Thats just a way to get you to buy tires.

I run -3.0 camber on the fronts of both my race cars and daily drive them on the street. I put on 20,000 miles a year on my one Civic Si alone.

My current set of tires has about 15,000 miles and they have lots of tread left. Toyo Proxes 4 tires.
