Default supercharger for d16y8

hey what do you guys think about putting in a jackson supercharger into my 2000 civic ex. Does anyone have one in theres, how much hp do you gain. Any mods or other equipment that i would have to buy for the supercharger? Does it need a BOV or a intercooler kit??

thanks

I have one on my D16Z6. The kit will come with everything you need to install, and run 6PSI. I would suggest dumping the relay setup the kit comes with, and getting a JR Map Controller. You don't need a BOV, or Intercooler. Intercoolers make a difference, but they are expensive because only a couple companies make them for the JRSC.

I haven't dynoed mine yet, but I would expect it to dyno around 145 WHP (about 160 at the crank). Its about as fast as my friends GSR. I have a little more torque in the lower RPMs, he is faster in the higher RPMs. Its a fun, reliable setup. Yes you can make more power with a turbo, but its enough for me. I wanted a B18C swap to begin with, but didn't want to trash a perfectly good motor so I supercharged it. If the motor ever blows I'll swap in a B18C and supercharge that.

I believe most JRSC bump up power about 40-50hp. Pretty good since it's instant power instead of waiting for a turbo to spool.

I wouldn't mind SC my Y8, but I don't have $2500 to dump into the engine.
