Default ex engine swap

hey recently my motor blew and i got one from a 98 ex.
my car is a 96 coupe ex.
my car is an ex to begin with the problem is the intake mani had one sensor that was different. it had three wires and the original had two. it causes my car to surge eratically when idling. i cut the plug and spliced the two sets of wires that matched in color didnt help. i have my old intake but if i can get around not having to change it id rather not. also where the sensor mounts is different between the two(original sensor wont bolt up)
come on all you honda geniuses help me out.

Best way to have the car running right is to just change the manifold.
