so basically out of nowhere... my gas mileage goes to shit. i went from like 40mpg to like 10 and i have a car that wont rev past 4k. i have checked the plugs and wires and i have recently replace the fuel filter. someone noticed a bad smell in my car and said it might be a clogged catalatic convertor? any idea's lemme know

 

My guess would be the ignition system or the plugged cat.

 

the dizzy is also new. if that helps... bump

 

recheck plugs,dizzy,cables,cap, and rotor. My friends cx gives him 463k to a full tank.

 

is the car htrowing any codes...

 

Im pretty sure ur cat is clogged....
The 4k rev limit is what gives it away
So does ur car hiss at all
Check under ur oil cap - Is it milky white underneath?

 

clogged cat. if your car has been on for awhile, take a look under the car. your cat might be glowing.

 

463,000 miles to a tank? Impressive.



And if the cat is glowing, please don't touch it.

 

i am getting a little better gas mileage... i took a rubber mallot and beat the crap out of the cat.. and reved it as high as it would go and black stuff came out of the exhaust... its running a bit better but still aint right so this will be getting removed or replaced soon. thanks guy
