Default Higher power alternator - do I need to upgrade cables?

I just bought 135amp alternator for my 95 Civic, because I have a feeling that my OEM one is dying with 143k miles on it. My question is, do I need to upgrade wires that are going from the alternator to the battery, since the stock alternator is only rater at 65amp?

Also, what kind of advantage will I have with the higher power alternator? I don't have a monster sound system or anything, but with the stock alternator my dashboard light are dimming when I put the headlights or AC on - I hope it will improve with the new one

i'd have your battery tested b4 you blow yourmoney on an alternator that might have nothing wrong with it..

then thing about if you really wanna paste the money on a high output alternator if u really don't have anything or don't plan to have anything that would require that much power.

also, if you plan to get the alternator from some internet place & not your local parts store.. also think about how long it will take for turn around time if something happens to it, you won't be able to go to the parts store & swap it with them at no cost under the warrenty.

just somethin to think bout..

Unless you're powering a camper trailer... :chuckles: I got one from a wrecking yard really cheap and is still running strong after 4 years. Checkout http://www.car-part.com/
