Default Civic door and window

I have a 1996 Civic DX Coupe. My window on the driver's side won't go up and I think I know what to do if I can get the door panel off. Problem is I can't get the handle off to get the door panel off. I checked the manual and it says to remove a clip on the handle "if applicable". I can't see any clip and have no idea how to get this handle off. Any ideas?

by the handle im guessing you mean the window handle since its a dx... there is this little metal pin thing thats inside of your handle. there is a tool made specifically to get it out, but you can use something in your house to get it out, ive struggled with this as well, but basically you need something with a hook on the end, you have to pry the handle just a bit out (dont break it, it is plastic) to expose the pin thing then hook it using something, you might be able to get it with a flathead i dont remember what i used, then pull the pin out... fyi the pin is shaped like the greek letter "omega" look it up and when you see it you will get a better idea of what you are doing. if you have trouble with the window once you get that far pm me, i will help you out, its a bitch but its not very complex.

Default clip

thanks for the help guys. I can't seem to see a clip like that in that little opening behind the handle. Do the ends of it stick out from the sides. I tried using a fishing hook yesterday but only came up with air. I assume if it wasn't there the handle would not stay on.

if you cant see it you need to pry the handle outwards more... it should be pretty flexible

Default door

Thanks for the help guys. I fixed it. I found the clip and got the handle then the panel off. I put the window back in the track and it is now ok. The worst part was trying to get the panel back on. It was really tough to get it hooked on at the top of the door at the window. But it is done..........Thanks!

Happens to my dad's car all the time. I fucking hate it.

Like you said, putting the panels back on the door is the worst part. I usually remove the speaker and try putting my hand through there. Sames me some time.
