is there any such better OEM antennas for 97 civic coupe...am seeing that the stock antenna is rather weak...loses the strengh quick when going through an underpass and or tunnel...

any better replacement out there??

yeah..... i know what you mean... yes there are "aftermarket" antennas.... it also has to do with your deck.

 

Is there a deck that has a better antenna so that I could cover the hole where the antenna sticks out of? I think I wanna do that when the car gets painted. Last I remember, Crutchfield had an antenna booster.

 

well i dont think that theres a deck with built in antenna inside the actual deck..... but the stock antenna plugs into the deck... and some decks give that antenna more juice than stock.... some less :/

but some of the time (well for me) my antenna often unplugs itself from the back of the deck which is a pain in the keister....

 

Boosters still require an antenna of some kind to receive a signal. What you could look into is a windshield antenna kit but it could be distracting and requires some ripping of the molding and headliner to install.

 

Hmm. I'll keep researching. Not about to rip up the molding and headliner for the sake of a mod.

Better OEM? Not really.

A good aftermarket 31,5" antenna and any newer tuner is about as good as it gets. Shorter antennas with boosters still don't perform as well as a good old 31,5" mast antenna with a solid ground.

 

the windsheild mounted attennas suck ass i had 2 of them and they got horrible reception.

 

which one are those,never heard of those before???

 

The cheap 31.5" tall universal ones you can buy from any auto parts store for under $5. I use one on my '7 and it works fine, even if it is an eyesore.
