Default This doesn't sound right to me...

So I bring my B16 starter into Autozone. I tell the guy I need one from a 94 Del Sol SI. He looks it up and they don't have any. So I tell him to look up one from a 94 Integra 1.8vtec and those are out of stock as well. So he calls Foreign Auto Parts in Groton and tells them what the numbers on my starter are. They talk for a while and then he asks what car is it going into. I told him a 95 Civic LX with a OBD1 B16A. Then they talk some more and the guy tells me that B16's don't come in LX's. I just looked at him took a deep breath and explained. So then the guy at Foreign Auto tells the guy at Autozone the starter I need is out of a "94 Civic Del Sol, not Del Sol SI". I asked him if there was any starters from any other year Integra in and there wasn't. The guy at Foreign Auto said to trust him on the starter I need so I unwillingly agreed. I could've sworn that the non-SI Del Sols have D15's and Z6's in them. So now I'm having killer anxiety over the fact that I have to wait two days for a starter that I don't even know if it's going to work and if it doesn't I'll have to wait even longer for the right one.

So I figured I'd ask you guys what you think about the subject and if it looks like a bad situation I can cancel the order and just tell them to give me what I asked for.

well the del slow S comes with a D15B7 or D16Y7 and the SI comes with the D16Z6 or the D16Y8 depending on the year. the VTEC was the only one with the B16. try going to the dealer.

Dealer wanted I think 245$. Autozone was 150$ with a 50$ core.

Like others have said, it's either a 94-up integra (any model) or del sol Vtec, the si comes with a sohc vtec.
99+ civic si would work too.

Hmm. There was no Del Sol VTEC option on the computor screen. I'm kind of wondering if the "Civic Del Sol" was the VTEC one. I'll deal with it tomorrow both places are about closing now.

no, most auto places dont have the del sol VTEC listed in their computer......just order it for a 99-00 Si or 94-01 any integra.....why even bother with an obscure motor in the del sol when the other options are so plentiful
