Default Small stuff for small budget

I am currently looking into doing some small things to my civic. I plan on purchasing the AEM V2 Cold Air Intake and a DC catback exhaust. I don't know too much about exhausts, but things seem to be too technical for me so if anyone can break it down for me I'd appreciate it. From what I do understand you need the casket and the pipes that lead up to the header for the catalytic convertor. I was looking at the DC sports one on ebay for my car model and make @400 and some dollars. Am I going to need a new header too? What brands should I look at and what should I stay away from?

Is intake and exhaust a good place to start? I'm not really looking to race my car, I just want to do some things to make it more unique and a little more quick. I'm thinking about purchasing the Halo Projector headlights and some black altezza tail lights as well. Maybe some neon glow for the interior and maybe an undercar streetglow kit.

Also curious about the performance chips you see on ebay that supposedly can give you up to a 20+ gain in hp...

If anyone has links to resources I can use to learn more about this stuff please pass them along.

the chips on ebay are bs.. you don't want nething bigger than 2.25 for the exhaust unless ur gonna turbo, but u said u weren't really into racing. lol I'm not too into altezas, but that's all about u not my opinion. Halos are sick, my friend has them. As far as the header goes dc sports are pretty good from what I hear, but no experience.

Hope that helped.

check the sticky at the top of this forumn it has a lot of stuff.

as for the chips, they are bs its not happening. personally i hate altezza`s, it think they look really tacky and a lot of ricers have them, as for the projectors watch out , i dont have any personal xp with them but from what i hear they go out fast and arent really worth it. but go with the aem intake and dc exhaust , the couple dc exhausts ive heard are really loud and not my taste but to each his own, i can say it should be good quality

first off... dont buy the V2... its a waste of money.... CAI dont really add that much power...and plus there is no reason to pay that much when u can just buy a generic brand and slap on a k&n filter...

if ur not really into racing... id say spend ur money on suspension...

most after market lightings such as altezzas and halo lights will fog and leak water through... though there are some that wont... a majority of them will...
the only time i ever bought halos was when i installed HID for my EG...i cant recall the brand though but those did fog up after awhile...

again i would say drop ur money on suspension... if u cant go fast on straight beat them on the twist...

I know Xenons melt the Hallos, but do HIDs melt them too? or are HID lights cooler (temperature wise)?

They use 35 watts as opposed to stock halogen bulbs that use 55 watts, so in theory, they run cooler.

After looking at stuff all day long, I've decided not to bother with the altezza lights or the halos. I don't want to worry about leakage and foggage. I may still get a CAI and an Exhaust. What I need to know now is will it void my warranty since my car is still pretty new. I'm guessing it probably does, and I guess all I really want is a stylish muffler... the stock one just looks stupid IMO.

On another note, I was also thinking about doing a conversion of the LEDs in the car to blue. Ebay has some kits to do this and was wondering if other people have tried and what their experience with it was. I'd like to change the red rings and arrows on my instrument cluster to blue as well but haven't had any luck finding an instrument cluster that has blue instead of red, and doesn't seem like it would be something I could just simply mod.
