i would like to do an engine swap but im not real sure what to go with. id like to get a b18c5, but im not sure if it is worth the 4800, for 200hp jdm. should i go with a b16a2, for 2450, with 170hp jdm. that is 30 hp less for like half the price. would i be better off getting a b16a2 with a descent turbo, or the b18c5?
if i were to go with the b16a2 with a turbo, how much would a descent turbo run, and what could i gain in power?

if i were you... i would get the b16a, but for 2400 IMO i think thats too much..i can get them for around 2gs, anyhow, and i would turbo it....it would spank C5s.

 

if ure considering boosting...keep in mind that ull need more money than 5g...

You could get a nice Greddy kit and the motor with some internals done for that price. Depends on how much you get the motor for, what shape it's in, how much stuff you want to do to it..

There's just so many variables....

 

Another option is to go with the B18b or B20 and go turbo. It is a lot cheaper than the VTEC brothers, and more effective when going turbo.

ok, maybe ill look into that. but i have heard there is alot oif work needed to get a b18b or a b20 in a civic dx. also, i have heard they are rather heavy.
