Default Should I be concerned with this? Pics

Got my motor today. Surprisingly clean. Don't worry, I'm gonna pick it up off the floor. lol. Oil pan is banged up. Is this near anything important? Is it near a spot that could normally go through a bang or two? It looks like someone was banging at it.

Also, the iacv is cracked. It's cleaner than the on the motor I'm taking out. Wanted to know if it will still function properly. I took it off, and it's REALLY clean.

It goes in this weekend. Wish me luck! Got a good deal on it.
D15B from Japan. $379 with tax. Picked it up in Gardena. 6 month unlimited mile warranty. Talk about a deal. Everything was on it. Dizzy the whole nine. I didn't think it would have all the sensors on it, too. The O2 is clean too. lol

That's a non-critical part of the oil pan.

If it was dented up on the "deep" part of the pan, it would restrict flow through the pick-up tube.

Damage where yours is dented is not important unless it is leaking. I've seen a stamped steel pan with a hairline crack seep oil (from a very minor impact.) Check for hairline cracks, they can be hard to find unless it's full of oil.

add-on

as long as the connection inside that broken black plastic is still good, it is fine to use...if you have an extra working IACV around it prob wouldnt hurt to swap it though...rules it out should you have any problems after the install.

Nice. Thanks. I'll check it thoroughly. As for the iacv? Can I still use it?

Damn Scoob.. you beat me to the send button. It seems as though it's ok on the inside. Cosmetically, the iacv on my d16z looks different. I don't think I can use the one I have. Having a hard time finding an iacv online for a d15b

Maybe just weatherproof that broken connector on the IACV. Ever hear of cold shrink? Nice clean engine though? Who did you buy it from?

Makoto Autoparts. They're in Gardena. They sell a LOT of motors. Thanks for the support, guys. Haven't heared of cold shrink. Anywhere in Los Angeles, or can I do it myself? The Iacv is a lot cleaner than I ever expected it to be. I've posted pics of a before and after of the iacv on 1.6 I'm taking out. Cool, though, I'll search for a new one for a b20b. I posted a few more pics.

congrats on the new clean motor. Will Makoto cover the iacv or oil pan under their warranty?
