mmmmm nice
B16A?oh yeah, theres a hole in the backside of my block about the size of a half dollar coin... the pics don't show it.
and for the record, I had a VAC/Boost gauge. It was functional (until those ****ers broke into my car and stole it).
All I had done to the car was AEM CAI and AEM cat back exhaust. It had to of been a factory defect. No other reason the engine would blow after 34k miles being pretty much stock.
This is some bull****... I'm still waiting, but honda sent some comments to go to the arbitrator... they said that they would have the dealer pull the head, but also added this cute little peice to thier letter:
"At this time, based on the TE's (Technical Expert) description of the damaged piston and connecting rod, we feel that the engine was over revved. If the engine is over revved a piston can contact the valves and this would result in a broked piston that matches the TE's description.
This can be accomplished two ways. The frist way is due to driver error by downshifting more than one gear at high RPM, which causes the engine to be over revved well beyond "red line". THe other way is to override the car's computer, or powertrain control module. The TE provided a picture of tampered wires at the computer. We have previously noted, prior to the break-in, that there was an electronic device wired into the computer."
First off, I didn't over rev the engine. I know how to drive, I don't mishift, that didnt happen. Second, an Apexi V-AFC can't change the redline of your car. So, basically, they're all full of ****.
I hate corporate Honda.
Does anyone have mailing addresses for Honda in Japan? I'm going to write them a letter and tell them how disappointed I am in their company. Basically, tell them the truth. That I was driving to work, started pushing the clutch pedal in and boom. That I really miss my car. That I've told everyone that was getting a new car to buy a Honda, and now I feel like a total fool. I talked about how great honda's are, and look what happens to me.
Maybe the letter will find it's way somewhere that it matters.... Japan is an honorable society... They aren't all about money like the sum*****es here in america... and American Honda is still controlled by japanese Honda.

I feel your pain, i broke my first tranny on my 00 ex @ 24K miles with just i/h/e on my car. One of the synchros just died when i shifted into 2nd and it wouldn't hold 2nd gear. I contacted about 5 honda dealers in the local area and they all told me to go screw myself basically because i had i/h/e. The funny part is that they all said that honestly the i/h/e wouldn't make enough power to even get close to breaking my tranny but they still wouldn't warranty it. I had to limp my car around for 3 months without 2nd gear until finally i said f*ck it, i'm not gonna wait around for gay honda anymore and bought a used tranny and put it in myself. Good luck with your case.
