Default Performance Chips

Okay so I've been reading up on these performance chips that you can get for civics that say they can increase torque, hp, and better gas mileage. I have a 99 civic SI and want to add a little more to it without doing anything major. Are these a waste of money, or are they actually something i should check out??

Waste of money. These "chips" are burned to a specific application (usually a copy of a race map/program) that will dump too much fuel and delete your fuel cutoff which will do more harm than good.

If you want to do it right, get Hondata or an AEM EMS for your engine management. You generally want to do modify your computer last.

Otherwise, stick to your basic bolt ons.
