How does the EGR work? Where, and all you know of this? I believe mine is gone, but I have a bad vacuum leak... HELP

i take it that you dont know exactly where your vaccuum leak is coming from. what makes you think you have a vaccuum leak? check the sticker under your hood. "might" show you location of egr.(just follow the numbered lines) but otherwise the egr is near the distributor. behind the valve cover. in front of fuel rail. directly in line (pretty close directly in line) with vtec solinoid. spray brake cleaner around where you think you have a vaccuum leak...idle will go up if leak is there.

the egr bolts up to the intake manifold towards the left (throttle/passenger) side. If its missing, it should be pretty obvious... it'll look like a bare flange just sitting there on the IM. There will also be an unused wiring connector (or cut wires) somewhere in that viscinity.

In that case, I dont have EGR, it is missing, and I have a vacuum leak, or horrible idle, yet i've sprayed my motor and lines up and down without any result...

do you have a digital camera? The flange would look something like this:

and if it is in fact missing, yes, that would cause a major vacuum leak, as there would essentially be a gaping hole in your intake manifold.

well that would explain your lack of egr.

It idles up and down, cold and hot, around 1000- 1500 give or take... I followed the write- ups on how to find your bad idle sources... NO Luck.
