Default Helllllpppp!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to change my distributor cap and rotor today, but the rotor is stuck on the shaft. I already took the screw off. I can see a little rust on the shaft. I tries pulling it off with a vise grip, but that didn't work. As a last resort a sprayed a little liquid wrench on it and tried the vise grip again, but it won't budge. What should I do?

BFH.

Put your purse down and smack the damn thing with a hammer lol.

Seriously, if the screw is out just put the housing in a vise, and then take a screwdriver and put it at the base, and then smack the back of the screwdriver with a hammer

I was gonna do that but I was afraid it would mess up the distributor. Are you sure smackoing it won't break anything?

just make sure your forces aren't perpendicular to the shaft. Try to get the angle of the screwdriver completely parallel with the shaft so that any and all forces just put away from the shaft. It shouldn't cause any issues. I mean use your judgement though, if you are smacking WAY hard you could break something

I got it off with a whole lot of liquid wrench, WD-40, a vise grip and and a lot of tapping with a hammer.
