here at the link is my car with older tanabe. It's quiet reminds me of a stock BMW sound while driving, but a tad louder.

The Racing Medallion (canister style muffler) is probably the loudest of all their exhausts. I have their older (I think their first) model the G-Power Medallion and it's mellow and deep. I think the closest one to that they have available is the Hyper Medallion.

Tanabe is good stuff...just loud... hks is good but i don't like the sound personaly...greddy got good exhaust but the EVO2 is just big and the SP2 looks funny. APEXi has the WS2 wich is good and quiet...another company you might want to look at is Buddy Club.

My Tanabe has no problem passing smog (though they're not technically CARB approved) but it does meet db requirements.

I've got a Tanabe Hyper Medallion and I like it a lot. It's quiet and deep at normal driving which is good, but if you really punch the gas it gets loud and you'll draw attention. I really like the sound of it, it's definitely not one of those exhausts that makes your car sound like a weedwacker.
