Default Totaled car?

I got into a bad wreck last week. I rearended someone in my 04 civc ex. The air bags didnt go off but the frame is possiblly bent with engine damage. The adjuster looked at my car in the tow yard and there was 9k of damage so far. Now it is going to the body shop so it can be looked at further. The insurance company said something about the fender needing to be taken off in order to check for more damage. They also said 70% of the value needs to be the cost of repairs in order for them to salvage it. How likely do you think it is that this will be totaled? The chp officer, the worker at the tow yard, and the tow truck driver have all said it is totaled...but why isnt it then? Im really worried cause i know this car will never be the same. Im really hoping this is a salvage. I had it towed to an expensive body shop...but is there anything else that can be done? I would really appreciate any feedback...im so stressed out.

Bang the crap outa it with a hammer... make the airbags deploy, that should cause a couple more thousand in damage.

If they still opt to repair it, dig it into a hole in your backyard and report it stolen.

Just let your insurance company do what they want to do. Talk to them if you are concerened about it. If they decide to fix it and you don't want to keep it, sell it. It sounds like it will be totaled.
