does anyone here know anything about different series engine swaps

All D series parts are interchangable same with B,H,series motors. Does that help?

Yes, it is. Don't do it. You can get a d16y8 or a d16z6 (Vtec d series) for under $800. Go to the classifieds right on this site for proof.

you can probably find a d16z6 motor and tranny for under $500... I know I've seen them lower than that.
