Default Coolant hose brust :(

i have a 1993 civic si, the hose under to distributor burst.

Was it old and that's why it burst? or is there some other reason??

Anything to do with the thermostat??

Just had a big snow storm and the roads were not all cleared i probably work the engine too hard.

Is there a name for this hose??

Thanks

I'm sure it was just old. Chances are there will be more to follow burst on you. My 92 VX has 12 hoses on it!!! I lost 4 of them this summer, 3 within 10 days. Based on what I went through, you should think about changing them all. They usually feel very soft and may look a little swolen before they burst but then agian, they may not.

the oem rubber hoses just get old after awhile and burst or leak. its just called a radiator hose, either upper or lower depending where it connects to the radiator

There's a DIY. do a search. I just did the same thing the other day. It works. I think there are two ways to do it in the same thread.
