Ok i have a 92 civic with 91 si motor d16a6..im gonna change the distributor to a 92-95civic, get a wiring harness for a 92-95civic,and before i buy the ecu p06 computer i was wonder if u could tell me were the ecu is located in the car so i can see if it has one or if it was taken out..and if the computer is still in there ,can i use that one or would i still i have to buy a p06?

after it got warm out side today i went out and found out the car has the harness and computer that was in the car..i have pics im gonna post..and i was wondering when i change the distributor to a 92-95..if i still have to change the harness and computer?..im sure ill have to chnage the harness to a 92 and the computer to a p06 but i wanted to no before i went out and buy all this stuff..

 

it should be on the passenger side....right under the glove box to the right...under the carpet. i believe youll need to take off 3 or 4, 10mm nuts to get it off the wall.

 

i just need to see if its there or not..ill let you no if i have any luck lol..ok found the computer.......

i see you found it. that is a p06 ecu. what motor is in there again? have any engine shots?

 

oh wait...i think im confused. you were trying to find the computer and harness out of another car for you car? or trying to find it in your own car?

That ecu is the one that you want, don't mess with it at all.


That wiring harness is the one you need, but it looks like someone already ran into the distributor wiring troubles. You can buy a new harness for your car, or you can try and rewire that harness. that harness would normally not need any wiring but someone messed it up already and it's gonna need to be fixed.

You will need to find a 92-95 distributor for sure. Try and get one from a Dx civic.

Get me more pictures of your entire engine bay and I'll tell you what else you are gonna need

i found tthe distributor in the trunk that was on the 92 motor before they put in the 91 si motor. and my dad is gonna wire the distributor if not illhave tobuy new harness well here r those pics..as you can see i found the plugs they cut..oh yea they said they put a new clutch but the clutch is hitting the floor lol? imgonna go out about 4:00 to buy a brand new battery and get a bookfor the car.

You've got a spare distributor right there which makes me think that the old owner knew that a new one was needed. In that case I think you have all the parts you need and that you just have to fix the wiring.

 

hey man thanks for all your help ill let u no what happens lol, one more Q they said they put a new clutch but the clutch is hitting the floor lol? u think they didnt connect it or something?..it hink they didnt no they could change the distributor..it think when they tookthe car motor out they kept parts just in case..but i hope that distributor.. is the right one my dad said he is sure it is tho...
