Default Remote Start

Is there a DYI guide to installing a remote starter on a 2000 automatic civic? Or is it not very difficult? Also looking for brand reccomendations, nothing too fancy.

check it out i got an alarm with almost all the bells and whistles for 288 intsalled at circuit city the only reason i dont have the remote start it came with is cause its a manual. the brand is code alarm. and since i've had it installed nobody has even attempted breaking into my civic. it is also a paging alarm. only drawback is no shock sensor

Yep, good time of the year. A lot of sales for installed remote starts for about $80 and up. I have Crimestopper on my 535, works great. Alittle too good, it's a stick (e brake doesn't work) and I sent it down the road two summers ago when I first got it, hit my Civic then hit a tree three houses down very scarey and immediatley disconnected. The power locks work great though.

Had to look up the site- designtech has a site for wire colors which I used to install my kids on his 97 Blazer. If I had to do it again, I would just have it installed. Not hard, just not worth saving $30.

check ebay for viper 791xv, clifford 3.5rs, and python 881xp. all made by dei, installation on all 3 is the same, only difference is led style, internal programmin and features, and remote covers. viper has a dark blue remote, clifford has a carbon fiber remote, and python has a black metallic remote. all responder technology with lcd remote with remote start.

Cool ... so the wiring colors is on designtech ... I was hoping to be able to do it for around $150 tops, I will look on ebay later for the models Outxider suggested. Thanks
