Default Throwout Bearing Price

Ok i went to the local honda dealership and zasked how much to replklace the throwout bearing since i finally narrowed it down to that being the problem. they told me about 850 to replaced it with new. What i want to know is does that price sound right? Thanks alot for the help

thats too much money, have you thought about doing it yourself?

Even if they include a new clutch that's too much. Unless they do it, then it's about right. But still too much. Do you do your own work? An Autozone (for example) new clutch kit is only about $100.

Is your throwout bearing squeaking or causing some problems with clutch engagement/slipping/grinding? If it is just squeaking, it is definitely not worth it. You can try to adjust the clutch pedal so the bearing comes in contact with the pressure plate and stops squeaking or just wait until the clutch dies and replace it with the clutch.

A Dakain throw out bearing is like 25$ on ebay. It will take probably 3 hours just to replace the thing yourself seeing as how you're not going to be messing with the clutch at all.

I saw a huge stainless tool box that was taller than me for that much money (200 less really). It had ball bearing drawers with mats in them and nice wheels... I drooled all over it.
