Stereo Wiring
Hey guys,
some punk broke into my 92 HB and stole my JVC deck, but now that i am trying to take my clarion from my teg and put it into the civic it wont work, but when i put it back in the teg it works fine.
i have the wiring harness for the teg but they cut the wires in the civic so i have been attempting to splice them. If anyone has experienced the same difficulty or has the actual 92 Civic wiring harness diagram it would be appreciated if you can assist me. i have been following along what i found on install DR but it just wont work, i even tested with a voltmeter and i am getting power to the stereo but it just wont turn on (yes i have checked the fuses)

Maybe you know all this (you probably do if you are doing your own stereo)...
Did you hook up the Yellow wire to power or the ignition. (Red +, Black -) and Yellow is the wire that tells the deck to turn on when power is applied. It goes to the ignition switch. OR you could just wire it to power but the stereo would always be on unless you switch it off or take off the face. The way to find that wire in the car is to use a test light. The test light has an aligator clip the you ground and the other goes to the wire in question. The wire you are looking for will light the test light when the key is at ACC or RUN but will be off when the key is off or out.
I think page 23-196 of the helms manual has the wiring diagram you are looking for. Good luck.
