Default Exhaust Life...

How long does an aftermarket exhaust last? How can you tell if it's going bad? I've had my G-Power Medallion for about 4-5 years now and was wondering if there is certain length of time it should be on a car before you know it has to go (if ever). It's irritating me that it shakes and rattles (after about 15-20 mins of driving) and I don't know what's causing it. I'm thinking that it's too old or something...

See the shaking comes from the exhuast hitting my rear bumper. It sits kinda close to the bumper and it makes this irritating and embarassing noise of the tip hitting the fiberglass bumper. Don't really know what's causing it. I figured that the exhaust was old cause I can't think of anything else that might cause it to shake like that.

Check your rubber exhaust hangers for extensive wear. If they are cracked they will not hold the exhaust in place very well. 4-5 years? They are probably at the end of their life. New hangers, and tightening the bolts should take care of it.

Could be the hangers.. Never thought of that. The original exhaust hangers were never replace since I got the car. Guess I should get a couple of new hangers then...
