Hey guys and gals, i got a 1997 Sol, with a D16Y2 motor in it (204K miles on it) and i got a question, i want more speed out of it, without going with the drastic $2000 Turbo. What can i do to make it go vroom vroom more then it does now and is there a specific recommended order that i do it in? (ie: new headers before new rockers, then new flywheel, and so on and so forth)

get a new engine.. i wouldnt put parts on a motor with mileage that high..

 

That does have really high miles. I would be worried on bringing that over 5k rpm

You just named three totally different parts that have nothing to do with each other.

I wouldnt do anything to that motor. Swap it.

 

it's a honda guys! my daily has 235,000 & i rev mine out every day on the way to work. I swear that car loves the abuse.. it constantly wants more! i've got 1200 bucks into it.. car & all.. Runs Awsome! i get it a regular oil change & she keeps on goin.. i'm actually concidering a small turbo setup on it just for an extra lil kick.

if u have any doubt bout u'r motor.. do a compression check b4 you spend money on it.. u can probly peice together a small turbo setup in the 1000 dollar or less range.

lol be nice now. really though those motors are pretty long lasting and can SOMETIMES handle the abuse, but I have to agree with everyone else, swap it, or dont do anything majour, lil bolt ons for that high miled red headed step child
