Default shifter bushings...

i have a 92cx and my shifter is slopppy as a sloppy joe...well i can move it about 6in back and forth when its in gear...i plan on gettin a short shifter real soon and i was wondering if just a shifter would fix this slop or would a energy suspension bushing kit work?

Hmm it could either be your bushings or something inside of the tranny. I had a lot of play in mine until I got my shortshifter and ES bushings.

sounds like your sync's are shot. do you grind gears when shifting (and not because of driver error)

Bushings are the problem, mainly just one, the one at the bottom of the stick. I replaced mine, and it took all the play away. Frankly - it was tight like prom night.
