Hey guys, I am new to Hondas and I just bought a 97 Hatch witha d16y8 swap in it. The guy told me there is no knock sensor and the car is throwing a check engine light. He said all I gotta do is buy the sensor, and run a wire to the ECU. Is this gonna be that simple? NEED HELP! Thanks in advance.


Also is this sensor really important? Or can I go w/o it?

 

i thought that the y8 came stock in the civic that year?

are u positive thats the motor thats in there?

 

its a dx, it had a d16y8 swapped into it from a 00 civic ex. Its says on the block that its a d16y8.
