people still use pennzoil? thought they would have figured out that stuff is shit by now.

 

i use synthetic mobil 1 10w30. It says it protects 10-15 thou miles. I still change it every 3.

 

I just took out my engine with 426,800 miles on it. I owned the car since it had 64,000 miles. My secret to success... Regular Penzoil OR Regular Mobile 5w-30 with a new Fram OR Wal-Mart filter every 3,000. That's roughly 120 oil changes that I did myself since I've owned that motor. How many more miles would I have gotten out of it with expensive oil? How many dollars more would you guys spend on your oil and filters over 120 oil changes? The main thing is to just make sure you change it frequently (3,000). I couldn't sleep at night if I had 10,000 miles on 3.5 quarts capacity of ANY type of oil. Always know where you oil level is on your dip stick.

If you have someone else change your oil, CHECK IT BEFORE YOU LEAVE AND WHEN YOU GET HOME!!! I have herd of too many people who have had an oil change and lost the engine because the lube shop forgot to put in the new oil or screw on a new filter. Never trust those bastards.

 

Everyone has their own preferences. I prefer my castrol with my wix filter, but then again, i work at a parts store (kiiillleerrr discount)

 

I run Castrol GTX High Mileage 10w-30 in my old Civic that I sold to my cousin. I prefer this oil to other "high mileage" oils.
