Default main relay problem?

I have a 96 civic ex 5-speed.

I shorted my main starter terminal while my key was in the on position when i was messing with my car to decide whether or not the motor was trashed.
now i have the new motor in it with a new battery and theres some weird stuff happening. First everything would flicker on and off as if everything was cutting out, but after i got a good battery the only thing i noticed was when i turn my headlights on my left turn signal light in my gauge cluster comes on and stays on. Also either my starter is bad or this possible bad main relay is causing starter problems?
please help if you know anything about this.

Doesn't sound like main relay.

Are you throwing a Check Engine Light? Are you getting spark? Do you hear your fuel pump come under your rear seat?

yes everything like that is working.
after it first happened and i believe i had a bad battery also, i would open the door and the interior light would pulsate on and off then it would be fine then it would do it again. same with everything else hed/tail lights would flicker along with whole car everything was flickering in and out.
after i put the new motor and battery in it the only problem i noticed was the turn signal light in the cluster stays on with the headlights. i cranked it and it cranked real hard about 6-10 times then it would just click. i believe it needs a new starter it was from the junkyard and it was from a 92 and i cranked the shit out of a junk engine with it i think its done. but between the flickering before and the dashlight doing that now, thats why i asked about the main relay. what else do you know of that could do this with the key in run position when i shorted the starter terminal.

Get the starter checked if you can.

Are you able to push start it?

As far as the light staying on and other lights pulsing, I don't know. Check your grounds.

i cant push start because i dont have a clutch yet.
i gonna buy a new starter then go from there.
i was just wondering if this had happened to anyone specifically thats probably the only way to know for sure.
