Have a stock 97 civic ek automatic ,looking to trade 4 a civic ek 97 manual. Nees to know wht is the best im goin with b18b LS but i herd b16a2 is good 2 need advice. im only 17 and into street racing need to know and get all i can get to b runnin in 06'

 

I have a b16a gen. 2 swap in my del sol. My buddy runs a b18b in a civic completely built and bored and runs low 13's. I run high 13's. If you want a b18b and you want speed, my advice would be to rebuild it and get it honed. I love b16a and b18c but that is just my preference. it also depends on whether you want to boost or not.

 

so your sayin go b16a2...... how much does that motor go for and a gsr

 

if you have a b18b gjust go witha GSR head and build it for boost, thats what i say.

 

it funny because i was thinkin of that Ls witha gsr head , i was thinking of doin sum internal work such as high compression pistons pulleys cams the works........

 

Key word though is build. If you are looking to build then hobozcar has the best idea. But either way, it won't be cheap.

GSR B18C Swap --> $2,700 - $4,000 depending on type of swap
SiR B16A Swap --> $2,000 - $2,700 depending on swap

Prices will vary depending on what you want, complete stock or long block only. LSD Tranny or just hydraulic, ecu, wiring harness, etc...These are all things you will need to think about.

 

so whut would u suggest is best 4 me b cuz like i said b4 this is my 1st car...dont get me wrong i havew bin driving 4 qite sum time now but i just to have a fast car ... a friend of mines has a ek lkike mines and has a b20 vtec motor with a turbo and is runnin 35 punds of boosts 700 hp WOW

 

20 lbs of boost ??? if you want to blow engines every few months, go for it. i don't recommend anything over 12 if this is going to be a daily driver and daily driving at 20lbs is DUMB !!! how much money is in your budget and i will tell you what to do

 

im not really lookin to build i just want to buy a good motor and drive ..............is that possible

 

i have a 94' del sol with a b16a2 swap and it's awesome i think cheap and easy to build on. if i had to choose between a b16a and b18b i would go with the b16a because it is vtec and cheaper.
