Default Sub Porting From My Trunk

Hey guys I'm new here and need alittle help. i have my speaker enclosure in the trunk and it hits pretty good now, but i want to port the wall with the rear window in so i get a little more sound. I've tried to call honda corp. in cali. but the were no help and the dealership here does'nt know the head from they're ass, :dunno: :dunno: so i thought i'd come here and ask you guys on how to take the rear wall apart so i don't kill anything important.

you can do it but since the rear window rolls down you'll be hard pressed to find a place where the window isnt at while rolled up or down.

yeah i know which sucks but thats why i wanted to take it apart to see where i could cut, or my other idea was to reroute the window guts to where it would be controlled from the sides and just cut out the entire middle of that wall and have a huge opening there , with 1-1/2 plexi , kida like a clear wall instead

To take apart the rear wall, take out your rear storage compartments. you'll need to take out the big top panel, and the side panels that cover the speaker. then take out all the 10mm bolts on the big black panel. Roll the back window down. Then, the black panel is caulked into place. pry it off carefully. lean it back into the car and disconnect the wiring for the defroster. There are drain holes at the bottom for water that gets in around the window. It's dirty and dusty in there... The bad thing is, the glass goes down almost all the way, so porting wouldn't be easy at all, unless the ports were only 1/2 inch tall...

That metal plate takes up a lot of chassis flex. I wouldn't remove it unless you're willing to weld in a cross member... That, and the seal for the abck window would be terrible, and if it leaked, it would look nasty. There is, however, another way to port it, but I'm not telling until I get mine done!

yeah i know that ti takes up alot of the body flex but thats why im going to go with 1 1/2 plexi (bulletproof glass) :boink: . i think that it will hold more pressure than that thin sheet back there also if i double pain it ; one on each side of the rear window than it should'nt leak...... got a good price on the glass so thats y i'm thinking of using it.

So, you're going to have 3 inches of plexi? you're a braver man than I... Sounds like it could turn into a sloppy project in a hurry.
