Default del sol s, si, vtec !!

ok i been doing my homework and this is what i learned
the s is the standard del sol has the 1.5 liter (6th digit on vin is 1)
the si is the mit level model and has the 1.6 liter (6th digit on vin is 6)
the vtech dohc 160 hp big boy is hard to find (6th digit on vin is 2)

i can easily find hundereds of the si for sale have only found 2 true dohc vtec for sale ,

now for my question, i want to know what do you the general masses think

buy the 126 hp 1.6 liter or wait look for the 160 hp 1.6 liter
the dohc comes with standard abs that is the only option i can find that is different from the si model

thanks

the si vtec uses a b16, i beliebe the si uses a d series variant, though i'm not positive.

i'd wait for an SI-vtec to pop up having that high redlining car is just more fun, esp in a targa/convertible tha tis meant for scooting around.

the vtec is really hard to find, so the other option to that is to buy a cheap one and do a b16a2 swap, or to buy the si and turbo the d-series which is a lot of fun. the choice is yours.

i thought the standard b16 does not put out 160 hp and the red line is alot lower?

any info on this ?

i think there is a b16a7 in the del sol vs the b16a1 in most other honda's

the si in the 93-95 model years has the D16Z6 which has 125hp and the si in the 96-97 model years has the D16Y8 with 127hp. the S has 102hp? with the D15B7 in the 93-95 model years and the D16Y7 which has 106hp in the 96-97 model years. the vtec model had the B16A3 and has 160hp with a redline of around 8000-8200rpm.

here's an idea for ya. there is a third option ot hobo's plan of either turboing the D16 or swapping to a B16. why dont u just swap to a B18 and THEN turbo it
