Default b18b idle pronlem? HELP

I recently put a b18b in my 1992 civic hatch. The idle is acting a little weird, it goes from 1200 to 850, then back to 1200. Is there anything that I can do? Do I need to take it and get a tuneup or what can I do by myslef??? I also put NGK Iridium Plugs in it. Can anyone help me?????

clean the IACV with brake cleaner, check the FITV screw, and bleed the coolant every time you start it up in the morning for the next week.

If that doesn's fix it let us know and we can diagnose from there

ok heres the instructions. I pm'd them to you also.

Pop your hood and look at the back of your intake manifold. There is a small black round peice with an alluminum body, it has a plug coming from the bottom as well as two coolant hoses. Its held on by two 12mm bolts.

Thats your IACV. Take off the bolts and leave everything else connected so you don't get air in your coolant.

Take brake cleaner and clean the two small screens that you see when you tilt it away from the manifold. after they are clean wait 10min to air dry all the cleaner that got in the unit. Then you need to bolt it back up and drive around.

let us know if that fixes it, if not get back to us and I'll show you how to check the fitv screw

yes it is actually, unless of course he has a vx in which case he needs to switch to a 4 wire o2 sensor.

b18b are plug and play into dx hatches, as well as si hatches.

what do you mean sir?

the b18b1 engine will literally plug right up to the DX or SI harness, not a single wiring mod is needed, except maybe to stretch out the o2 sensor wires so they reach a little better.

If he's smart he shouldn't be using the stock ecm, I'm guessing he has the correct p75 ecu.

My guess is the coolant isn't bled properly but we gotta go though the steps to see if other stuff cause it first because bleeding the coolant isn't always as easy as it sounds
