Default Few questions about my 92 hatch

Hey guys just found this site and had a few questions. First of all I have a 92 hatch its a dx with a D15B7. I just got a whole new gauge cluster put in it with a tach (from a 95 ex). And I was wondering if someone could help me out, say when the redline starts (as it will probably hit the rev limiter before it gets to the redline on the tach). Also Im saving up for a swap and I happened to come across a few engines. The first one I looked out was a B18B, so that was the first thing i looked at, a dohc integra engine (non vtec). The next 2 im trying to decide on are the b16a 170hp/116torque (92-95 sir) and the b18c 170hp/128t (94-01 gsr). Anyways was just looking for opinions on what everyone thinks is the best buy for the money. And also what kind of hp i would be getting out of a b18b1 with a b16a or whatever vtec head. Thanks in advance

Yeah I have heard the ls/vtec option is nice, but will it end up costing just as much to make it reliable as buying a b18c? Btw why do you say they are crazy nice to have? Thanks im still learning

b18b > b16a. at 140hp, its more than enough for an eg hatch...unless your one of them people who don't know the term "overkill". but all 3 are good choices. i would have went with the b18c if i had more money.

Hey, I've got a B18B thats about to go in my 92 civic hatch. More than likely Im going turbo. I thought about the LS/Vtech and decided too much trouble for what i was getting. Right now my B18B is on my front porch lol. Im lookin for motormounts and such, but its good to hear someone else with a 92 hatch thinking the B18B way.

If you're getting a whole drivetrain, just make sure it's from a '94+ or you'll have to convert the tranny from cable to hydro, or the chassis from hydro to cable. It's much easier to start with the right parts. I believe the 94+ cars are marked B18B1. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but my GF's 98 teggy GS is marked that way right next to the bell housing on the block... I sold a wrecked '92 integra, and it was marked B18B. It had a cable tranny.
