I have a 97 civic with a B16 swap and when I am driving I have a idle problem. For example, I am driving in 3rd gear and Im coming to a stop because of a light and I put it into neutral the rpm never drops down to regular until I make a complete stop then it comes down, sometimes not even to the norm of 900 rpm, usually it drops to just 1300 rpm. Any suggestions?


Also my car makes a whistling sounds around 3000 rpm (Don't know why)

 

is your idle @ 1300 when you start it up???

 

Yeah thats where it is. But if I go somewhere and turn the car off and the nback on it idles correct around 900 rpm

 

Mine will do that everyonce in a while too....Runs fine though ... but i am curious about what it is as well...

 

hmm check the throttle cable? maybe it's sticking

 

i heard its just a honda querk because mine does the same thing..

 

If the throttle cable is sticking what could I do, do I need to take it to the shop or loosen something myslef?

 

I have a whistling sound coming from my car when I throttle could my throttle body just need to be cleaned?
