b18b
cheap, should drop right it, and good for boost
b18c
more stock power, better tranny, higher comp, more expensive, drop in
h22a
lots of power, as much as b18b but not as good for boost, need mounts

which one would you recomend.. i plan on going FI, high boost with b18b but would go lower for other 2

H22A = 2.2 VTEC (prelude Si, SH)

H23A = 2.3 non-VTEC (prelude S)

i was on the osaka jdm engine site an it said h23a was a dohc vtec..?

must be a typo.


There was a F20B (Euro Accord Type R) that was similar to the H22 motor. The 2.3L's were never VTEC. Although people have done the 2.3L block mated with the 2.2 VTEC head.

If you have the money, the B18C is the most versatile of the three. It has better aftermarket support than any of the other three as well.

Also, vtec + boost. Need I say more?
