Default Torque Spec on oil drain bolt

Does anyone know the torque spec on the engine oil drain bolt? Oil is leaking and I want to make sure it is on tight enough...

Use your smallest ratchet and turn it maybe 1/4 to 1/2 turn past hand tight. If you overtighten you'll strip it and then you'll really be leaking oil.

Do you have a gasket washer on the drain bolt?

15-17ft/lbs

If oil is leaking did you use a crush washer? Did you put a coating of oil around the drain bolt?

Thanks. My last oil change was at an oil change place and oil has been leaking since. There and at the transmission, so I need to make sure that they are tight. If need be I will make a gasket to put on or use a crush washer as recomended. Thanks for all of the help guys...

Crush washers are like $0.05 at Honda I got like 50 But you tighten the drain bolt TOO hard it can strip the threads. The pan is aluminum.

Thanks for the heads up. I am thinking about getting one of the drain plugs that allow you to connect the hose straigt to it. This time, I will make sure I don't tighten it too much, don't want to have to helicoil it...
