Default Where the hell is my oil going?

I changed my oil about a month ago. I checked it today randomly and about 1/2 a quart is gone I'm guessing. I checked everywhere for leaks and there are none, no smokes comming out of my exhaust, and there's no oil on my plugs or wires. I romp on my motor pretty hard that's the only thing I can think of. My vtec engages normally. I just don't know. Does old oil burn kind of fast? Because there might have been close to a quart left in the pan that I just couldn't get out because I live on a hill so there's an incline.

It's going right out the tail pipe in the form of exhaust. I don't think it's any thing to worry about. A high revving Honda engine is expected to burn off a little oil.

I hear B's do burn some oil. My engines in in 6,000+ rpm's 80% of the time. Oh well, maybe I'll get a compression test done, and maybe that will give me an excuse to get new rings, which will give me an excuse to get low compression pistions, which will give me a reason to get new rods, which will so on and son on.

Oh ok. You should post some pics if you go with new internals. Just for fun you know?

Beat on performance engines (like Honda B's) can be expected to chug down up to one quart per thousand miles. Newer Civic Si's and S2k's say this right in the owner's manual... that's why you are supposed to check the oil level at every gas stop.

Is it bad that mine doesn't burn? I beat on it and it burns almost nothing if any.

None at all? I'd be suspicious, but wouldn't really worry about it. You may just have a "tight" engine from the factory.

We've had '05 Si's come in with customers complaining about 1qt/1k oil consumption. They never beleive it's OK until we point it out in the owner's manual.
