I am wondering if anybody has worked with carbin fiber not just the bolt on parts. i want to know if any body has taken the material and made custom things out of it. I would like to know how you handled the corners and curves. also what kind of resin do you use, or does anybody know a web site that tells how to use it.

Well, I've worked with CarbOn fiber before as well as fiber glass. Same basic idea for both. I got all my stuff from http://www.uscomposites.com and bought and read a book about composites first. Corners are a problem, but you can deal with them easiest with a multipiece mold (other ways as well) and liberal use of mold release (and/or waxed paper).

Buy and read a book first and it won't be a big deal. Also, I'd practice with Fiberglass first and then step up to CF. CF is like $55 a yard and fiberglass is like $4. Principles are similar with both.

The resin you select also depends on cost, strength, etc. needed for your project. Simple thing to know is that the ehtylene kind (I think that's the name, it's the kind with equal parts A to B) has virtually no smell while the polypropelene kind (drops of catalyst) reeks to hell like styrofoam and you won't want to use it in anything other than a shed away from your house.
