Header/Cat install problems
ok, i installed a header and cat the other day on my civic ex, but the stock brackets arent useable on the new parts, and now when my car starts or hits a bump, i can hear the cat hit under my car. I have a catback exhaust too, and everything is bolted up sweetly and it works great, but there is nothing that holds it in place so that when there is vibration it doesnt rattle against the car. has anyone had this problem? i did a search and saw some similar things, but nothing too helpful. Does anyone have any suggestions? or should i go to a muffler shop and have them weld me a bracket on the cat to hold it in place and away from the car? thanks
i recently put a cat on my sol. it has a lil rattle @ certain rpms when sitting still, but i usually don't have an issue. i know what cause it though... mine is 2 inches shorter than my stock cat. it caused my exhaust to pull forward that 2 inches. maybe check & see if you had a similar issue...
Im gonna get under it tomorrow and look real good at everything... my cat was also shorter than the stock one, but im hoping it didnt pull everything... if so, i guess ill have to take it somewhere and get hangers made and welded in place, cause my wife drives the car and hates it if there are any noises different then normal... thanks for the help
