Default can someone enlighten me please

ok i am a noob and i dont know squat about hondas i was up until now a air cooled vw person know lots about them but nothing about hondas.Here is what i got i recently purchased a 95 civic hatchback cx i was wondering if anyone knew the weight of the car and engine size it is completely stock and what the cx on the name badge means i think it is a d series motor i know it is single over head cam and that it is slow as hell the tranny sucks as far as shift points anyway i know allthis can be fixed with some good research and wrench work and if it is a d series motor do they have after market parts and where can i find them can you get any real power out of them or is a swap the way to go

i drove my VX around for about a month and couldnt stand it. pretty much the same tranny and motor so i feel your pain. im more of a slut and went with a GSR in my VX, but i've heard some pretty good feedback from the JDM 1.5 SOHC swap. fair bang for the buck. you can check the motor out here.

your D series non-VTEC is going to be slow as balls. You can get the motor recommend or do a B series swap for more go.
