Alarms are a false sense of security. I have had my Civic broken into four times and stolen once in the 12 years I have owned it. I bought the newest and greatest alarm after every break in and so now I don't even lock it (granted I don't live in the city anymore but I figure if they want the stereo they can have it. The last time the column alone cost me like $800.00. I'm surprised my insurance has not dropped me. My property is gated and I have a decent size german shepard so if they jack any of my cars they will have to really work at it.
