Default radio not working..low idle

i just wired my head unit in only to find out it wasnt working.. i checked the radio fuse and it was blown so i replaced it.. the head unit would not turn onbut when i hit the cd eject button u can hear it working.. so i rewired it but now the cd eject motor isnt even working.. its really pissing me off so let me know anything you can..

problem 2.. little more serious..
i go to start the car but instead a loud 'pop' comes from the battery and the car power shuts off.. after figiding with the negative cable, power returns.. but when i start the car, the needle wont even jump past 1k an sits down at 200-300 rpms.. i dont know if this is falty o2 sensor, fuel pump, or throttle body..

did problem two start after problem one? and for the radio, did you cut the factory harness or did you buy a harness that plugs into the factory?

first off.. u'r an idiot for cutting the factory harness.. with that said, it sounds like you have other un-related electrical problems with your car. The poping sound was probably your battery contacts just rejecting them selves, make sure that they are clean (wire brush if not), & make sure they are tightened securly (via wrench!).

hopfully when u cut the factory harness u didn't make one big cut, but u cut each wire individually. If not then you crossed a positive charge with every other wire in there even if the car was off due to the constant 12v power for memory!

rewire your radio once more. visit www.installdr.com for the correct wire colors for your radio. its under the quick radio wiring info section.
