D15b issues
it might be a d15b7. that's what i'm running in my '94 sol. anyway... why put that motor in an '00 civic? it is a stupid swap, but not illegal. i dunno if that ecu will work. honestly, he'd be better off finding the stock motor, or a y7.
What's the weight difference between a 92-95 DX hatch/LX sedan that the D15B came with and that 2000 Civic hatch? If it's a lot, it won't be just a non-performance swap, it will be downright shitty. It would be a pain in the arse to go through all that work for that. What's so wrong with the D16 that it can't be fixed?
how can that be illegal? that doesn't even make sense. whether it's a new car or not, the motor is legal in an older car. i have the same motor, which is totally legal. not to mention, even if it's illegal, your dad would have to find a cop, pop the hood, exlain the swap, and that cop would have to be 100% aware of the difference in the engines. it juss sounds stupid. where did you hear it's illegal?
