vtec not engaging

vtec not engaging

I have a 96 del sol with the dohc vtec (b16a) well a couple days ago the car stopped going into vtec all the time now it only goes in like 1 out of 5 times.
Has anybody seen this before?

Check your oil and tell us if its low or black or think n stuff.

oils good, Solenoid clicks when you put power to it, I've taken the whole vtec thing off the side of the head and cleaned it out,I'm not getting a check engine light or anything
