should i get an ls swap?
one of the guys in my car club is selling an ls motor for 125...not sure if it comes with tranny and ecu heres the ad for it:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have an extra B18a1 complete long block that still ran when was taken out of the car but spun a bearing. everything is still intact, needs rebuild. Perfect for anyone that wants to do a cheap LS/Vtech swap! does not include a dizzy and oil pan.
Asking 125$ for it
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm only 17 and i work fast food so im not exactly rich but how much would it cost/what would i need to get it running again. also would i be able to use my stock tranny? the cars a 99 civic hx. the price sounds right down my alley but i dont want to get it and have to spend a grand to get it running

The guy doesnt even know how to spell vtec...
New bearings are less than $100. The labor is free if you do it yourself (and its easy).
You would need
As well as 4 mounts (driver side em1 engine bracket, rear em1 tranny, B series front lower tranny mount, a p7j A/C mount to retain that - OR a b series condenser/lines). A Distributor, probably wires too, and the oil pan (though I cant figure out how it'd sit w/o one and not become damaged).
Youre looking at $1000 MINIMUM, plus a lot of time and energy spent tracking down parts and not to mention the time it will take to do all of it.
Save your money for better things...youre only 17.
