want to build b20 vtec turbo
hey this is my first post on here and i was wondering if you guys could help me out with the set up i would like to do any suggestions are more than welcome due to the fact that i am just getting into learning about the internals and such i curently drive a 97 civic hatch with a b18b1 swap gsr tranny and a drag t3t4 turbo set up. It was plenty of power at the start but not now i want to keep it as a daily driver so im gonna do it right but i want a dart block with a type r head ive got a place i can get a full type r head brand new for 1400 bucks but what i need to know is should i buy a bear type r head and build it or should i just use that head ...its already port polished from honda suposivly... the bottom end what kind of set up should i go with is the dart block worth it or should i just sleeve a b20 bottom end or is a b20 even a good choice?? let me know what you guys think anything is apreciated
keep your b18b, its a perfect motor for boost. if your wanting 500+ hp, then i would highly recommend sleeving the block. also, forged pistons and rods, as stock honda internals arent usually made for over 220whp. if your hung up on having vtec, then get a b16 vtec head, probably found for a lot cheaper. type r heads were made for NA, so the cams arent the best for turbo.
and forget that b20 block. the sleeves are just too thin for high boost, theyll split like rose odonalds pany hose before she lost weight

ok sweet that will save me some cash what is the best sleeves and about how much do those run and what compresion should i try to go for..?? thanks alot man... does it matter what b16 head or will any year work ...??

just to get you started
dart blocks are expensive. and it's just a bare block. for just a little more, you can buy a fully built shortblock.
