okmy car started idling rough and misfiring...so i changed the plugs again...(i did last week due to the same problem) and now the plugs are once again black and now its misfiring worse and worse the more it runs...i dont kno whats goin on but it dont seem to good...oh and after i changed my plugs my SUN MINI TACH stopped working....hmmm please help

 

also...i cleaned my engine bay with engine brite cleaner but i wrapped the distibutor and intake with plastic bags...and i drove it afterwards...and it didnt start running rough till 1 hour later..

 

took another ride around the block...its worse and i dont think its revving past 3k i dont kno seeing as my tach quit

you have water somewhere or it damaged it. i would check the resistance on your plug wires, if they absorb water because they are old, it can cause issues like this.

what does a tach connect too? i wanna rewire it but i dont kno what it goes too...there are 4 wires goin into the back of it...it still lights up but shows no rpm's

 

you should leave your car running when you wash the engine/bay

 

ok so what does a sun pro mini tach get wired too?

 

you should be able to power it independently and the tach signal can be taken off the distributor.
