Default tapping after valve adjustment

ok so i have a B16a2 and did a valve adjustment, set the stock spec.

intake to .006
exhaust to .007

at idle is seems ok, but when i drive or rev the motor a little i hear a tapping
did a compression test and and got
c1 - 200 psi
c2 - 195 psi
c3 - 191
c4 - 198

could some help me find what the problem could be

thanks

why the hell would fuel system cleaner fix tapping in the head :slap:

on another note, i'm not sure of the milage of your motor but there is a posibility that the wear patern on your cam lobes is off due to accessive wear and it could be making the taping noise due to an in-consistantly sized cam lobe.

or, maybe your missing a rod bearings & the rod is slapping against the crank as it goes up & down! it's hard to say without hearing it..but how many miles are on your engine & whats the condition of it..

if you hear tapping, after a valve adjustment, they aren't properly adjusted. If they were, the lash wouldn't be so effective that u'd hear it!

I don't think the problem is the valves, mine does it even after I changed the valves, got a valve adjustment and some minor head work. Mine is wierd though it started after I got a oil change, so maybe changing your oil might help

4Banger69 - u should really stop posting or somethin..

some of the other members & i have come to the conclusion that your hurting people more than helping them! your last comment about changine the oil due to a valve adjustment being done out of spec is just absolutly off the wall & makes no since. Maybe if he swaps windshields it will give him self adjusting tire pressures too!
